Medcom Inspector Alert ™ V2 – The Best Seller

The Medcom Inspector Alert ™ V2 is the best selling radiation monitor from Geiger Counters International due to its reliability, accuracy and ease of use. Great combination of design, features and cost.

The Medcom Inspector Alert ™ V2  is among the most sensitive hand held “pocket” Geiger counters available that measures alpha, beta, gamma and x-ray radiation using a 2 inch (45mm) very large “Pancake” GM detector with excellent high sensitivity to common beta and alpha sources as well as Gamma and X-ray detection. This latest model of the Medcom Inspector Alert™ V2 features enhanced shock mounting for the Pancake GM detector.

The easy-to-read digital display shows readings in your choice of µSv/hr, mR/hr, CPM, or CPS. Also a synchronized red count light blinks and there are audible tones providing instant indications of the radiation level. Medcom Inspector Alert™new features include a three-second update and a utility menu that allows you to change settings.

Its digital liquid crystal display (LCD) shows the current radiation level. You can choose readings in CPM up to 350,000 counts per minute or mR/hr up to 110 mR/hr The Inspector Alert™can also be switch to the international standard of µSv/hr providing values up to 1,100 uSv/hr or counts per second up to 3,500.

Also a new feature enhancement of measurements option (microSieverts/hr).

This instrument also offers an accumulated total and timer function, up to 9,999,000 counts and 40 hours.

Medcom Inspector Alert can be set to provide a count total, showing the radiation count over a factor of time. This feature is useful in establishing the background as well as current radiation level. For example, setting the unit to TOTAL; set the timer and then it shows counts over a chosen 10 minutes period. Dividing the Total Count value by 10 then the average background radiation in CPM can be discovered.

The Medcom Inspector Alert, alert function sounds an automatic alert sound when values exceed you inputted parameters.

With each count of radiation this an audible chirp, and a red LED blinks. The chirp sound can be muted.

Medcom Inspector Alert™ allows the user to set an audible alert that sounds when the radiation reaches an established limit.

Output: Stereo 3.5 mm jack sends counts to computers, data loggers, other CMOS-compatible devices, and headphones.

Input: Mono 2.5 mm jack provides electronic calibration input Available USB cable for radiation network software to send your data to a worldwide repository and map at API Safecast:

Medcom Inspector Alert™ operates on a single 9-volt alkaline battery (included) providing up to three months of continuous use.

Medcom Inspector Alert comes with a durable carrying case with a belt loop.

Increased 1 Year Warranty on the GM Detector Tube, and the warranty for the remainder of the device have increased to two (2) years.

1 review for Medcom Inspector Alert ™ V2 Surface Contamination Meter

  1. Anthony Borelli

I started using my Inspector by Medcom from just before the Fukushima disaster began and I wanted to monitor outdoors here on California coast in case of anything coming over from Japan. I saw a slight rise in my background within the first two weeks, and I heard some was detected in the almond crops too out in the valley. The Medcom Inspector Alert has held up real good for me despite me dropping it a couple times while climbing around to measure my yard.
I forgot and left it on and surprised it was still running after a few days and really it goes for many months on a 9v battery, on all the time here at my house, literally. Made in the US of A and it shows cause I even let my teenager use it sometimes. Good product from International Medcom, or is it IMI?
